The rivalry began in 1955 during the first-ever Inter-House Rugby match. It is said the match lasted 20 minutes past the whistle because neither side would yield, leading to the first recorded 'joint-trophy' in school history.
In 2012, Adams House achieved the 'Triple Crown'—winning the Athletics, Swimming, and Cricket championships in a single calendar year. They are the only house to have achieved this feat in the 21st century.
Christloe was the first house to have its own dedicated common room library. It was built using stones from the original school foundation, symbolizing that the 'spirit' of the school lives within the house.
The Beatie House 'War Cry' contains ancient phrases that have remained unchanged since the school's founding. It is traditionally performed at 4:00 AM on the morning of Inter-House Finals to 'wake the ancestors.'
School folklore speaks of a 'Ghost Runner' in a faded Green and Gold kit often seen on the track at dusk. Legend says he only appears when a house is about to break a school record.
